PAINTINGS INSPIRED BY THE BEAUTY OF THE SOUTH COAST
Rochelle St. Martin Pettenati
Rochelle St. Martin Pettenati is an artist who graduated with a BFA in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art & Design as well as an MAE with a concentration in painting from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. She is inspired by the beauty of the South Coast, especially the farms, trails and beaches of Westport, Little Compton and Dartmouth. She works primarily from her home studio but during the spring and summer, enjoys painting outdoors. An avid gardener, Rochelle also enjoys painting flowers, from a single bloom in the style of her favorite artist O’Keeffe to a field of blooms bursting with a multitude of hues. “I believe art is a language we can all speak and understand, it is what connects us to each other as well as to past and future generations. Art is powerful, healing and omnipresent. It envelopes us and feeds our souls.”
