Michele L Bailey
Michele Bailey began painting in her forties, taking weekly pastel painting classes for 10 years with local artist Sarah Fielding Gunn and occasional workshops with other artists. She is inspired by nature, particularly the wildlife, woodlands, marshes, and seashores in the region where she lives. Additionally, she paints cats because she must. And sometimes she explores abstract works just for fun. Working in pastels, oils, oil & cold wax, and mixed media, Michele usually works indoors but also enjoys painting outside, "en plein air," in the gorgeous locales that surround her. Her style could be described as contemporary impressionistic, or abstracted landscapes. She is a member of the Westport Art Group and South Coast Artists.
