Kirt Rebello is a self-taught metal artist pursuing a passion that provides a three-dimensional outlet for the non-dimensional thoughts that occupy his mind, and the two-dimensional drawings that make it from his mind to paper.
His primary artistic focuses have been on large abstract and representative works that reflect his fascination with the contemplation of the origins of our existence, as well as his representative and functional pieces that often reflect his love of coastal New England life.
Working with found objects and the new and reclaimed mediums of weathering steel, stainless steel, mild steel, copper and brass, Kirt enjoys exploring the contrasting finishes he is able to attain with each and uses their differing characteristics, compatibilities, vulnerabilities and patinations to reflect and represent life. The materials and processes used in his artwork also ensure that the works remain for decades of enjoyment and hold heirloom potential.
Kirt also enjoys creating functional artworks in the forms of structural art, railings, furniture and lighting and he enjoys exploring the creative process with his clients, striving to bring their ideas to fruition.
